Winter Clothing Reminder – We are starting to see temperatures drop and as winter weather is fast upon us we want to remind all families to please send your students to school with clothing that will keep them warm while they are outside (Jacket/coat, hat, gloves/mittens, etc.).
Carpool: We have received feedback from our community regarding morning carpool issues along 3600 West in front of the Granger-Hunter water district. We are seeing an increase of parents dropping their students off along 3600 West. This is causing congestion to regular traffic flow into our parking lot due to stopped cars and an increased number of pedestrian traffic. More importantly, we do not have personnel available to serve as a crossing guard across the driveway. This puts your students at risk. We ask that you do not drop off along 3600 West and use our carpool system as it has been implemented. Thank you for your cooperation.
Cell Phones, Tablets & Smart Watches: Devices with cellular capabilities are NOT authorized for student use from the time they enter the building in the morning, until they exit the building for dismissal/pickup. During carpool, while waiting at the curb, students are authorized to text and call ONLY. Cell phones and watches with cellular capabilities must be stored in backpacks at all times and will only be authorized to be taken out once the students exit the building at dismissal. Additionally, smart devices are NOT authorized for student use at any time while inside the building after hours. Students always have access to our school phones if they need to contact their parent or guardian and families can always call the school if they need to relay a message to their student.
We have launched a new initiative to help protect our students from the harms of social media (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.) and smart devices. We are excited to get to work on our Winter Concert music – hooray! With that being said, please make sure that your child attends Sistema every day so that they can learn the music and perform in our concert. Concerts are a BIG DEAL in our Sistema Utah program as we only have two concerts annually. Our concert will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the Small Gym on campus.
With the cooler weather comes sickness. As a reminder, if your child has to miss Sistema because they are sick or if they have a previously scheduled appointment, you need to call the Sistema office to let us know they will be missing that day. Our phone number is 385-351-3090, ext. 1139 where you will leave a message if we do not answer. You may also email Mrs. Christensen at tchristensen@apamail.org.

Senior Sunrise was a blast! Students woke up early to hike to the Draper Suspension Bridge to watch the Sunrise. While there, Mr. Peterson spoke to students about making time for what is important first before prioritizing less important things in your life. With college applications coming up, he told them that now is the time to start prioritizing and thinking ahead for their future. Students came back to campus for a big breakfast and games that our Student Government Leaders planned. It was a great day! Here is a video to recap the event: https://vimeo.com/877912382/5684a33f78
