Winter Clothing Reminder – We are starting to see temperatures drop and as winter weather is fast upon us we want to remind all families to please send your students to school with clothing that will keep them warm while they are outside (Jacket/coat, hat, gloves/mittens, etc.).
Carpool: We have received feedback from our community regarding morning carpool issues along 3600 West in front of the Granger-Hunter water district. We are seeing an increase of parents dropping their students off along 3600 West. This is causing congestion to regular traffic flow into our parking lot due to stopped cars and an increased number of pedestrian traffic. More importantly, we do not have personnel available to serve as a crossing guard across the driveway. This puts your students at risk. We ask that you do not drop off along 3600 West and use our carpool system as it has been implemented. Thank you for your cooperation.
Cell Phones, Tablets & Smart Watches: Devices with cellular capabilities are NOT authorized for student use from the time they enter the building in the morning, until they exit the building for dismissal/pickup. During carpool, while waiting at the curb, students are authorized to text and call ONLY. Cell phones and watches with cellular capabilities must be stored in backpacks at all times and will only be authorized to be taken out once the students exit the building at dismissal. Additionally, smart devices are NOT authorized for student use at any time while inside the building after hours. Students always have access to our school phones if they need to contact their parent or guardian and families can always call the school if they need to relay a message to their student.
We have launched a new initiative to help protect our students from the harms of social media (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.) and smart devices. We hope you are having a wonderful Fall Break. We sure miss our students and can’t wait to see them on Monday!
With the cooler weather comes sickness. As a reminder, if your child has to miss Sistema because they are sick or if they have a previously scheduled appointment, you need to call the Sistema office to let us know they will be missing that day. Our phone number is 385-351-3090, ext. 1139 where you will leave a message if we do not answer. You may also email Mrs. Christensen at tchristensen@apamail.org.
We had a record-breaking number of Sistema students who qualified to attend our first no missing daytime homework incentive last Friday. We had over 100 students in attendance to watch the Super Mario Bros. movie and also enjoyed a fun popcorn party. A HUGE thank you to all of the parents who donated the goodies for this event. The next incentive will be right before Winter Break. Let’s help our Sistema students stay on top of their homework so that we can have many join our incentive in December. Time will pass quickly!
We also had our first Bach Buck store of the school year. It was incredible to see our smiling student’s faces as they came shopping. Keep up the great work!
