Sports Corner
There are some changes and some clarifications I would also like to make everyone aware of at this time.
- There will be no fee for JH sports this year.
- All athletes are required to have a doctor’s physical before playing in their first game.
- There will be at least 2 teams; A team is 7/8th grade and C team 5/6th grade. Students can play up but cannot play down. If we have enough students there may be a 3rd, B team.
- We will not be providing transportation this year for JH sports due to transportation costs. We know this is very unfortunate and may be difficult for some but we encourage you to reach out to other parents and establish car pools for transportation.
If you are interested in helping out with these or any other sports please let me know. We are always in need of willing parents.
Enrollment
How the lottery works
Once you have applied for your student to attend our school, your online application will be held in the General Applicant Pool until such a time as we have a vacancy. Your application will then be included with all other applications in the General Applicant Pool in a random drawing to fill that vacancy. Students are accepted into charter schools by lottery, which is state mandated.
If you have applied and you don’t hear from us, it’s not too late to enroll at American Prep. We fill vacant seats up until the first day of school. You will be notified by phone or email if your student has been selected through the lottery. The registrar will not have any additional information.

Have you ever wanted to know who to contact within your prospective school location? Our website has valuable information you can use in order to reach the right person, so that you don’t feel like you have missed an opportunity to get your questions answered. Our updated Staff directory will give you all the information and allow you to reach us by email for Elementary, Junior High and High School. https://westvalley2.americanprep.org/

Compliance
Free Period Products
This year, our school is offering free period products (menstruation products) in our girls’ and all-gender bathrooms in compliance with recent legislation (H.B. 162). Period product dispensers have been installed, providing free menstruation products for our students. We ask parents or guardians to please discuss the need for and proper use of these products with their children who may need to use them, and ensure they know the products are free to use when needed.
