WV2 & WV3 ★
As we near the end of the year and the collection of books, we would like to encourage parents to look through their students’ books. Please help your students erase pencil markings and have your students bring their books into the Curriculum Office for any repairs. Repairs include, but are not limited to, page rips, holes in pages, and spine separation. Please do not attempt to repair anything yourself as we have special book glues and tapes. This check will help you be aware of any damages and the condition of your student’s books and help your student’s teachers with this end of the year task.
It is time once again for our WV2/WV3 Lights Off Summer Fun Carnival! This is a FREE family fun event for the entire school! Likewise, if they have more than three unexcused absences (X marks) where they missed class but a parent did not notify us of the absence they would receive an NC mark until it is recovered through attending Saturday school. Please refer to the parent/student handbook for specifics about how to remove T and X marks. Saturday school is always from 8am until 11am. Sistema Notes ♪
The countdown is on to our Spring Concert – 4 DAYS! Please note that we will have rehearsals for the concert EVERY THURSDAY until the concert finishes. The great news is that we have Sistema every day until the end of our program in May.
We have been working hard to learn our pieces for our end-of-year concert in May – hooray! Please ensure that your child attends their Sistema classes daily so they don’t fall behind in their classes. If your child is sick or has a previously scheduled appointment during afterschool hours, please call the Sistema office to let us know at 385-351-3090 x 1139 or email Mrs. Christensen at tchristensen@apamail.org. Each student has been invited to a Google classroom for instrument and singing classes. If your child has to miss Sistema or would like to practice at home, they can pull up their respective Google classroom at home. This can be accessed through their APA student email account. If your child participates in sports and Sistema, they MUST practice their music at home using Google Classroom to avoid falling behind in their music.
Sistema Spring Concert ticket reservations are NOW OPEN! Please note that every Sistema FAMILY will receive up to three tickets. This is not per Sistema student, but per Sistema family. If your child has multiple households they belong to, we ask that both parents work together to decide how to divide the allocated three tickets between their households. We do have extra tickets you may request and they will be added to a wishlist which will be granted first come first served as available. We will also be live-streaming this concert for anyone with small children who may be unable to attend. Click here to reserve your tickets. We are also in need of volunteers for our upcoming concert. Please click here to sign up for any and all slots you are available to help with.
